Notes
Thank you so much for your efforts! I unfortunately have to contact you all again because I got a speeding ticket yesterday, August 10th, for 70/55mph in Fauquier County on my way home from Charlottesville. I really usually do have a good driving record and am so disappointed and sad that this is happening back to back. I thought I was following traffic, but I went faster than I thought because it was downhill. I was just wondering if I could get your opinion on if I should just pay the fine or if it would be worth it to hire representation for court on October 20th. I don't want my insurance rates to go up, but I'm just not sure if the judge would even be lenient because I have a recent DUI conviction and the officer already reduced my speed when writing my ticket. Also, would I still have to go to the court date if I did have a lawyer, and am I supposed to tell my probation officer about this now or when they ask about it?
