Facts
I was involved in a car accident in Virginia on July 15, 2025, and received a summons for RD-VIEW OBSTRUCTED-MISD (46.2-855). I’m seeking legal representation or advice on how best to handle this. Accident Details: Date: July 15, 2025 Location: Lime Kiln Road (Route 733), between Snickersville Turnpike (Route 734) and Route 15 (James Monroe Highway) Context: I was at a T-intersection, attempting to turn onto the main road. There was condensation on my driver-side window, but I believed I could see through it. I saw a black car far down the road and thought it was clear to proceed. As I pulled forward to merge, a beige car was approaching from the left. It had blended in with the condensation, and I didn’t see it. I informed the officer at the scene about the condensation. He photographed the window, which showed an 8–9 inch oval of visibility. He asked if that was the same condition during the drive. I believe I said it may have been worse, but I don’t recall if I said it covered the entire window. The officer also told me that the other driver said he had to swerve just before impact to avoid hitting me directly. The entire front of my vehicle was destroyed. My vehicle: front-end damage Other driver: 59-year-old male. Responsive and able to provide ID. I’m not sure of the extent of his injuries, but an ambulance was present. Citation issued: RD-VIEW OBSTRUCTED-MISD (46.2-855) listed as a misdemeanor on the summons. Background: No criminal record First accident Driving history includes: A speeding ticket in a 20 mph zone a few years ago A ticket for failure to provide registration I’m fully willing to complete a driver improvement course or take other steps that could help my case.
